Nation & Citizens Government Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Economy Tourism The State of Qatar welcomed the resolution No (1973) for 2011 on the situation in Libya The State of Qatar welcomed the resolution No (1973) for 2011 of the UN Security Council issued on Thursday March 17, 2011 on the situation in Libya. This was disclosed to Qatar News Agency by a responsible source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The source added that the State of Qatar, according to this resolution, has decided to take part in the international efforts aiming to stop the bloodshed and protect the civilians in Libya. The source confirmed that the State of Qatar respects the choices of the Libyan people and its legitimate right to a peaceful living. At the end of his statement, the source reiterated that the state of Qatar is looking forward to seeing a prompt implementation of the UN Security Council resolution so as to put an immediate end to bloodshed in Libya and bring about stability and security for the brotherly Libyan people.
