Public Works Authority carries out works of public facilities, roads, tunnels, infrastructure, buildings, government construction works by designing, implementation and supervision. It belongs to the Ministry of Municipality and Architectural Planning. Public Works Authority aims to contribute to the economic and social development in the country by implementing public projects in accordance with the accredited national plans and, in this connection, it has the following competencies in coordination with the relevant authorities, practising the following competencies: 1- Prepare the required plans, programs and budget estimates for the implementation of public projects in line with the endorsed plans of the state. 2- Prepare the studies, designs and technical specifications for public projects. 3- Contract the implementation of public projects out to contractors. 4- Implement, operate and maintain sanitary drainage and subterranean, surface and treated water projects. 5- Implement the main maintenance projects. 6- Keep record of data on public projects. 7- Prepare and publish studies and statistics on public projects. 8- Provide services, information and technical advice relevant to its field of specialty for government departments and public corporations. 9- Represent the state in the meetings, conferences, symposia, authorities and corporations associated with its field of activity. 10- Propose the legislation relevant to its field of activity. 11- Representing the country in the meetings, conferences, seminars, bodies and organizations relevant to its activities. Public Works Authority comprises the following administrations: 1- Administration of Legal Affairs. 2- Administration of institutional Planning and Development. 3- Administration of Buildings Projects. 4- Administration of Buildings Designs. 5- Administration of Roads Projects. 6- Administration of Highways. 7- Administration of Sewage networks. 8- Administration of Roads and Sewage designs. 9- Administration of Contracts. 10- Administration of Engineering Works. 11- Administration of Quality Control and Safety. 12- Administration of Sewage Networks Operation and Maintenance. 13- Administration of Roads Operation and Maintenance. 14- Administration of Human Resources. 15- Administration of Financial and Administrative Affairs. 16- Administration of Information Systems. 17- Administration of Public Services.
