HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said that he had conveyed to HM Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed the Sultan of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman the greetings of his brother HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani the Emir of Qatar and HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani the Heir Apparent, alongside with their best wishes for HM, the sultanate and the Omani people of every progress and prosperity.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said that he had also delivered to HM Sultan Qaboos a message from HH the Emir of Qatar regarding the cooperation between the two countries and the ways of strengthening it, indicating that there a Qatari proposal which is under consideration with the Omani officials on the ways of enhancing the cooperation between the two countries in light of the decisions of the GCC to extend some financial facilities to Oman on the one hand, and establish a wide ranging economic partnership based on viable economic considerations with a view of bolstering the existing ties between the two countries in the social, political and economic fields, on the other.
HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani pointed out that the discussion of such issues was the main cause of the visit, alongside with preparing for the meeting to be held between the two leaders of the two countries to put their weight behind the practical implementation of these intentions. About the mechanisms of joint work between the two countries, HE confirmed that an agreement was reached during his talks with HH Haytham Bin Tariq Al Saeed to form two committees: one for economic cooperation, energy and investment, and the other for financial cooperation. He said: "the two committees will work within the coming two months , and a number of agreements which had already been prepared will be signed after the holy month of Ramadan by the two countries as a declaration by HM Sultan Qaboos and HH the Emir of the practical beginning of the cooperation".
On the political side, HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Tani said there is a strong and continuous coordination between the sultanate and Qatar, explaining that, "at the directives of the two leaders we are coordinating with each other on semi daily basis on foreign policy issues as the recent political developments in the region are important and they need continuous discussion and consideration of how to deal with their advantages and disadvantages in the coming stage".
HE praised the actions taken by the Sultanate of Oman under the leadership of HM Sultan Qaboos to deal with the recent event. He said, "thank God. The way the Omani authorities responded to the events in Oman was exemplary. The wisdom of HM Sultan Qaboos and his far-sightedness has turned the negative aspects into positive ones; and this is what we in the State of Qatar praise the sultanate of Oman for".
