Nation & Citizens Government Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Economy Tourism Press Statement by HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jabor Al-Thani during the Visit of HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani to Sudan on on Saturday Feb 21, 2009- As reported by QNA HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Babor Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said that HH the Emir discussed the pact signed recently in Doha between the Sudanese government and the Justice and Equality Movement on peace in Darfur and the practical measures to follow it up during the Emir's visit to Sudan on Saturday. "The way ahead of us is long", he added. HE pointed out, in a press statement, that "the first step was accomplished positively thanks to all parties who helped us in this." Regarding Qatar's role in convincing the rest of factions to join the pact, HE said that contacts are being made and the replies are positive and they will continue in the coming days.
