H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor al Thani said that Qatar will invite all Arab countries' leaders to take part in the Doha summit, including adding that the Sudanese president is welcomed in Qatar. H.E. was speaking in a joint press conference with the Albania's Prime Minister Following the round of official talks they held at the Emiri Diwan in which both sides confirmed their keenness to foster bilateral relations in all fields especially the economic and investment fields. HE Sheikh Hamad welcomed Albania's Prime Minister who is visiting Qatar. H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said the meeting between H.H. the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani and the Albanian premier and the talks that gathered the two prime ministers dealt with the development of the bilateral ties, especially in the economic and investment sectors.
H.E. the Prime Minister termed the talks with Berisha as excellent, since they covered means of boosting the mutual cooperation in a positive way, adding that he will pay a visit to Albania in future in order to resume positive talks.
The Qatari investments have already existed in Albania, where several tourism companies are currently operating, H.E. the Prime minister and foreign minister said, noting that Qatar will send a delegation to Albania' capital, Tirana, soon, for more possible economic cooperation.
Regarding sending an invitation to Sudan to attend the Arab summit due in Doha in late March, amid tension caused by the ICC arrest warrant against President Omar al Bashir, H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister confirmed that Qatar will invite all Arab countries' leaders to take part in the Doha summit, including Sudan.
The summit is an Arab meeting, and a special meeting for Qatar or Sudan, Sudan will be invited, and it's up to the Sudanese government and its discretion whether to attend or not'', H.E. the Premier and Foreign Minister said, adding that the Sudanese president is welcomed in Qatar.
Asked about the Qatari mediation in the Darfur peace talks, H.E. the Premier said that Qatar will continue its mediation on Darfur, despite the ICC decision which poses an obstacle.
H.E. reiterated the determination of Qatar, the Arab League and the African Union to push forward the peace talks on Darfur, noting that H.E. the Minister of State for the Foreign Affairs held talks on Tuesday in this regard and that the talks will be resumed in the next days or weeks adding that all parties are willing to resume talks.
Asked about a four-States Arab summit that may precede Doha summit, H.E. the Premier and the Foreign Minister said that it was scheduled to convene in Riyadh, but we have no details whether it will be a three or four-States summit.
Answering a question by the Albanian TV on when Qatar will recognize the independence of Kosovo, H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister underlined that Qatar was studying this, and that the Albanian Premier had discussed this issue with H.H. the Emir, and '' we will consider this issue and we hope to reply to it soon.'', H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said. HE underscored that HM King Abdulla Bin Abdel-Aziz of Saudi Arabia is honest andkeen on Arab reunion. "We have confidence in King Abdulla and his sincere intentions to reunite the Arab," HE said.
