Cabinet Condemns Criminal Bombing in Sanaa Last Monday

Doha/(QNA)23 May 2012/ The cabinet has condemned at its weekly regular session held here Wednesday, the bombing occurred in the Yemeni capital Sana'a earlier Monday and claimed lives of dozens of military and civil victims.The cabinet session, held at its Emiri Diwan premises under HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani, also described the bombing as a criminal act which runs counter to Islamic and human values and expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, stated HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud following the meeting. The cabinet also called upon the Yemeni people to adhere to their national unity in order to protect their country's security and stability, stressing Qatar's solidarity with the Republic of Yemen and its full support to enhancing stability, the construction process and the success of the current transitional phase. It also expressed deep regret for the events taking place in the sisterly Republic of Lebanon, calling upon the Lebanese people and their leaders to maintain their national unity and to put the country's high interests above all other interests. Thereafter, the cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows: First: Taking the needful measures to issue an Emiri draft decision endorsing the state general budget for the fiscal year 2012/2013 after taking note of the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the draft budget for the state's major public projects. Second: Approving the establishment of an authority to monitor food in accordance with the report of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs on the outcomes of the activities of the adhoc ministerial committee, formed to study the adaptability of having one government body to control and monitor human food. Third: Approving the two following draft laws, and forwarding them to the Advisory Council: A- A draft law on exhibitions. B- A draft law amending some provisions of Law No. (18) of 1997 on the Qatari Scout and Guide Association.
Fourth: Approving the following: A- A draft decree to exempt industrial plants from customs duties on industrial inputs . B- A draft decision of the Minister of Energy and Industry on regulations of exempting industrial inputs from customs duties.
Fifth: Approving a proposal to restructure the investment sector of the General Authority for Retirement and Social Security. Sixth: Taking the necessary measures to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of education, higher education and scientific research between the Governments of the State of Qatar and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Seventh: The cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the relevant appropriate decisions : 1 - Two memorandums of the Ministry of Social Affairs on the supplementary report of the adhoc committee set up to study the proposed draft amendments on each of Law No. (2) of the year 2007 on the housing system and its executive decisions. 2 - The memorandum of HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs on the initial report of the State of Qatar on the implementation of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. 3 - The letter of the Supreme Council for Information and Communication Technology ictQATAR, on the draft law to protect the privacy of personal information.
