Paris/ (QNA) 07 June 2012/ HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani said that relations between the State of Qatar and the friendly French Republic friendly "are institutionalized relations" describing relations binding the State of Qatar with former presidents as friendship relations. Addressing a press conference here today, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor said the close relations between the two countries are not only relations of persons, "but rather a relation of a state with a state," noting that these relations are based on joint interests and common understanding. On his meeting with French President Francois Hollande, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani said today's meeting increased the strength of the Qatari-French relations, because they are founded on a sound basis between the two leaderships, pointing out that HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Emir and HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attach great importance to these relations, adding: "There is a complete coordination with France." Regarding the crisis in Syria, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said, "any suggestion to resolve the crisis in Syria, accelerate political stability and draw up a plan to transfer power peacefully, is a favourable issue for us in Qatar and for all". He added, "We held discussions in Qatar, yesterday in Turkey, and today here in Paris. It is clear that everyone is moving towards a solution to the crisis which requires recognition and support of what the Syrian people want." On the failure of the mission of the Joint UN-Arab League Special Envoy for Syria Kofi Annan, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani said Mr. Annan said in his speech in Doha publicly that the Syrian government did not respond to the six points.
HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani referred to the meeting held in Turkey yesterday saying "all support moving towards Chapter VII, and the presence of Russia and China is also important. As you know these two countries are (UN Security Council) permanent members, and by all means we are working with the international community in the Security Council. Russia and China are important members and they have veto rights, but this does not mean that there are no other solutions which we are seeking. Now we are talking with many countries to resolve the crisis Syrian. We support a peaceful solution to the issue and for that reason we are roaming the world and talking about a peaceful solution. " On fears regarding the situation in Lebanon, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani said, "We are always accustomed, regrettably, to throw our problems on Lebanon and always Lebanon tolerates us. It is important for all the Lebanese to pay attention to the interests of their country and not to allow any of party to tamper with their interests and economy" . He pointed out that "Lebanon is a pretty flower in the Arab world that must be preserved, and all the Arab world has a passion for Lebanon, but love could be a killer in some cases'', calling for the support of stability in Lebanon. Referring to the issues he discussed with the French President, HE the Prime Minister said it dealt with the Iranian issue saying "we always advise that this issue should be settled by diplomatic means and we are happy that there points of dialogue and points of agreement between Iran and the West and we hope that the next meeting in Moscow would be positive for a peaceful solution to this crisis. We believe that there is nothing other than the diplomatic solution to the crisis between Iran and the West."
