Doha, July 25 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani chaired the Cabinet regular meeting, held this evening at the Emiri Diwan. Following the meeting, HE the Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud gave the following statement: At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet condemned the Israeli official statements that claim Al Aqsa Mosque as is an integral part of the territory of Israel. The Cabinet considered that such provocative and irresponsible statements would raise emotions, increase tension in the region and adversely affect any efforts to revive the stalled peace process over what constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. The Cabinet urged international community to assume its responsibilities and pressure on Israel to halt illegal practices in the Judaization of Jerusalem and obliterate its Arab and Islamic identity, and to recognize the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly the right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. The Cabinet also condemned the repression and genocide against the citizens of the Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar, which caused hundreds of deaths and the displacement of thousands of people to the burning of houses and mosques. The Cabinet called on the Government of Myanmar to stop these inhuman practices ... and also called on the international community to protect Muslim civilians in Myanmar and to the speed of the movement for the relief of thousands of them who have been displaced and work to bring them back to their homeland.
Afterwards, the Cabinet discussed the meeting's schedule as follows: Firstly- the Cabinet followed the directives of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and studied the recommendations of the fact- finding Committee formed to study the causes that led to the burning of the Villaggio Mall on 28/5/2012 and to work on implementing the recommendations of the Committee as soon as possible. The Cabinet after paying tribute to the victims of the tragedy, listened to a briefing from HE the Minister of of State for Interior Affairs and his accompanying delegation. The briefing included the technical report on the Villaggio tragedy. The Cabinet apprecaited the efforts made by the interior Ministry to face the tragedy when it took place. The Cabinet decided to form a committee including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Business and Trade and Kahramaa. The committee will look to implement the decision of the fact finding Committee on the ground. Secondly- Took the necessary actions to issue a draft law that amends some of the provisions of law no. 11 of 2003 on establishing State Incentive and Encouragement Awards for Literature, Arts and Sciences on the recommendations of the Advisory (Shura) Council. Thirdly- A) approved a draft law to issue a unified system for combating Anti-dumping and countervailing measures in the GCC. B) approved HE the Minister of Energy and Industry's draft law to issue the regulations of the unified law for combating Anti-dumping and countervailing measures in the GCC.
Fourth: approved the Cabinet's draft decision endorsing the Board of Directors Qatar Petroleum decision No. (14) of 2012 on the approval to enter into certain agreements for the issuance of bonds (samurai). Fifth: 1- Draft decision of the Minister of Environment defining fees for services of laboratories and standardization. 2- Draft decision of the Minister of Environment on prices of selling manure. Sixth: Then, the Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the related appropriate decisions: 1- HE the Minister of Business and Trade Letter on the outcome of the 45th meeting of the GCC Commercial Cooperation Committee (Riyadh in May 2012). 2- HE Minister of Public Health and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health Memo on the outcome of the 37th Session of the Arab Ministers of Health Council (Oman March 2012). 3- HE the Minister of Social Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour letter on the outcome of the 28th Session of the GCC Ministers of Social Affairs Council (Abu Dhabi, October 2011). Seventh: To take the necessary measures to ratify the Convention between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Jersey on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on incomes and its Annexed Protocol. Eighth: Approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of industry, energy and natural resources between the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Qatar and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of the Republic of Korea.
